She attributes her success to her passion, interest, skill set, and creative energy.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she is South African by birth, and has enjoyed a rich life of wild places in many parts of Africa as she grew up. She trained and worked as a Social Anthropologist during the time of Apartheid, working mainly with rural communities. Her main interest in life is the vital connection between humanity and nature, and the value that experiential learning and outdoor education brings to social and personal change.

Ms. Roberts heads up an environmental charity that has a strong focus on socio environmental benefit work. She is a trained facilitator in conflict resolution. Ms, Roberts is working on a project called Wild Swans, which is a young women's leadership program.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Overseeing the day to day operations; Providing a series of benefit programs; Linking wilderness trails to peace and reconciliation and the effects of wilderness on developing sound youth leadership built on environmental awareness and ethics; Focusing on people and nature; Seeking ways to highlight the social and personal impact of the wilderness experience; Working on youth leadership and advocacy, young women's leadership development, youth at risk and wilderness therapy and the effects of the wilderness experience on peace and the reconciliation process in Northern Ireland

In five years, Ms. Roberts hopes to move forward and build teams to broaden the foundation on a more global basis.
