He became involved in his profession after a long and successful career in the British legal system. He previously held the positions of barrister, deputy chief, legal consultant to The Royal Bank of Scotland, and most recently, acting deputy to the general attorney in Bermuda.

As the attorney general, Mr. Shepheard is the chief law officer of the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British overseas territory located immediately southeast of the Bahamas.

Managing and supervising a staff of 20 employees; Sitting on the advisory council to a legal consultancy forum; Advising the territorial government on legal matters; Participating in criminal proceedings; Voting on legal reforms

In five years, Mr. Shepheard plans to continue working in the legal system. He will serve as the attorney general until 2013.
