She became involved in her profession after gaining experience as a business support officer with the children and families department, supporting nine nurseries. Owing to her studies and experience she was assigned to the workforce learning and development department.

Ms. Grafton has been with the Edinburgh Council for three years. A focused and hardworking professional, she enjoys challenges and appreciates having opportunities to show what she is capable of. Among her many accomplishments, she is particularly proud of helping the council achieve gold status in the Investors in People framework. She has varied experience in finance, call centers, and child care. Apart from work, she has an interest in quiz programs, and has appeared on television no less than 34 times. Having seen both her mother and her sister die from cancer, Ms. Grafton believes it is vital to take stock and live life to the full. As she puts it, "You are a long time dead, so grab every opportunity that comes your way!" She is married and has three children.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Serving as the lead officer for the Investors in People program, the People Plan, performance and review and development (PRD), awards, further and higher education, and training programs

In five years, Ms. Grafton intends to do project management and development work in an organization. She hopes to move with her family to Adelaide or Brisbane, Australia.
