Dr. Marriott did his doctoral dissertation on the psychological well-being of a sample population of Australian managers. It was a part of his own enduring interest to determine and develop key personality factors in profiling top people. His research was based on his idea that each person acts out a fulfills a "life script" that is initiated during childhood. The components of the life script can be categorized in some of the following ways: genius, charismatic, constructive, comfortable, disruptive and destructive. He also use nine Belbin Team Roles as an useful predictor of life scripts in action. The nine team roles include: coordinator, shaper, plant, monitor, evaluator, resource investigator, team worker, implementer, completer/finisher and specialist. The model also instructs people to take secondary roles if there are less than nine people. His dissertation goes on to explain how if properly understood and applied, the model becomes of paramount importance in achieving corporate objectives.
Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
The highlight of his career was being invited to conduct a teamwork program at Los Alamos in New Mexico, and teaching how to use the Belbin Team Roles with distinguished scientists and scientific teams.
