She became involved in her profession because she was inspired by her father and brother who were in the Army.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Ray was the first female full-time officer hired at the 181st fighter wing. She served as a squadron commander in three different squadrons. She has traveled to 18 different countries and to Alaska and British Columbia to photograph grizzlies and black bears. She became a part-time private investigator after serving the Military. Ms. Ray worked for the National Guard from 1973 to 1976. She served full-time in the Air Force, on active duty, from 1976 to 1978. During this period she was a traditional weekender in the Air National Guard. From 1978 to 2002 she worked as a full-time technician for the Air National Guard. Ms. Ray's doctoral dissertation was published in 1983, entitled 'The Navy Civilian Collateral Duty Safety Personnel Function and Task Analysis.' She has spoken at the military safety and deployment briefings. She also works as a tour director, guide and cruise host. She specialized in meeting and event planning, and arranges conventions, open houses, career day gatherings and air shows.
