He became involved in his profession because he started out as a systems administrator and had a background in Solaris. While working on a project in implementing a firewall, he was asked to manage the project. He then moved into network work on a full-time basis.

Managing all remote access; Overseeing devices and projects with network-wide monitoring systems; Dealing with back-end authentication; Maintaining perimeter firewalls; Setting up site-to-site virtual private networks, ACLs for the local area network, a wide area network, and a metropolitan area network
