She became involved in her profession, after obtaining an undergraduate degree in psychology, because she got a job working at a daycare center that included some gifted children; she began teaching them mathematics and reading, and discovered that she loved it.

Ms. Hong develops her own curriculum following state standards, and bases her teaching on common core standards that will help students be prepared and succeed. She loves teaching children and helping them develop character.
