Ms. Manning served as a school teacher, as well as a trial lawyer. She plays in several ladies' jazz and big bands, which are comprised of lawyers and judges.

Listening to criminal and civil case hearings in appellate courts

In five years, Ms. Manning hopes to continue serving as a judge in the federal appellate court system and become more involved with her musical groups after her retirement.
