Extended Bio Profile:
Before serving as director of research at Verdure Technologies, Inc., Dr. Burr served at Bastyr University as the basic sciences laboratory manager, after working in the protein and nucleic acids laboratory at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He then supervised the synthesis of sulfuric acid from elemental sulfur and the conversion of phosphorus slurry into phosphate for the J.R. Simplot Company. Dr. Burr's expertise in high pressure liquid chromatography, amino acid analysis, DNA synthesis; protein sequencing, peptide synthesizing, mass spectrometry and gas chromatography allows VTI sustainable research and developmental growth. Dr. Burr did his undergraduate work at Washington University in St. Louis, where he conducted an undergraduate research project with Oliver Lowry that aimed to better understand brain function. Upon graduation, he was hired into the Protein Chemistry Lab (now the PNACL) Verdure Technologies, Inc. where he manufactured micro-gas attendant, a solar-powered, geothermal-regulated, and remotely-monitored automated system to eradicate the high levels of waste, environmental pathogens, and organic compounds, as well as captured greenhouse gases. Verdure Technologies, Inc. was incorporated in 2007 and is based in Pocatello, Idaho.
