Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession through her desire to enter the field after suffering a ruptured appendix and having her life saved by a nurse when she was in third grade.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Tam was featured in an article in the newspaper as the volunteer of the year for her services with the local cancer society and Mountainview Hospital and Nursery. She began working in the Obstetrics nursery, received a 96 in psychiatric in the board examinations and was offered a higher salary as acting director of the psychiatric unit, which included housing for herself and her children. She also served as the governor's advisor on mental health for 12 years. Her concern over the patients' quality of life led to her aiding in the change of the treatment of psychiatric patients, who were being confined, thus had no social skills at all. Ms. Tam has two children, and a plethora of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her son, Ronald, is a retired petty officer of the United States Navy, and her daughter, Roxann, is a travel agent.
