He became involved in his profession because he was inspired by his father, who was a decorated fighter pilot in the Korean War and B-747 captain for Trans World Airlines.
Extended Bio Profile:
Capt. Kaczynski is an aviation veteran with over 25 years of diverse experience. He possesses 10,000 accident-free flight hours and extensive experience in general aviation, with the United States Air Force, scheduled airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration. He started flying while in high school at the Naples Airport and later went on to earn his commercial, instrument and multi-engine ratings at the Florida Institute of Technology, graduating with a bachelor's degree in aviation management and flight technology. After graduation, he obtained his turbojet flight engineer rating, became an instructor and worked until he was accepted into the pilot training program with the United States Air Force. He served in Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and several missions in Bosnia, Panama and Haiti. While serving in the Reserves, he acquired his airline transport rating and was hired by AirTran Airways, where was a captain with the DC-9 team for five years. He left AirTran Airways in 1999 to fly with US Airways Inc., where he flew B-727 and A-319/320/321 airplanes. Immediately following the events of September 11th, he began flying Very Important Person DC-9s for various high-profile sports and racing teams and, subsequently, started his own consulting company. While he was managing property and aircraft, he joined Atlanta Air Charter, where he shares his vast knowledge and expertise. His airline transport pilot ratings include: AB320, B-737, BE-400, C-500, C-650, DC-9, L-382, MU-300, King Air 90/200 and B-727 F/E.
