She became involved in her profession after being an anthropology major in college, specializing in African studies. Then she started to take an undergraduate class in information technology and was encouraged by her parents to get a specialization in the field.

Running the overall strategy for a sales and service organization; Deciding which specific information technology tools are needed; Working with various business units to determine which types of processes to have in place to train and facilitate development; Managing various vendors; Working with internal information technology teams; Working with the company on a number of women's network issues
