She became involved in her profession because she was inspired by her family members.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Riemer works with scholarship committees and has worked on a Native American reservation assessing their medical care. She worked for Red Cross for six years coordinating a county program for researching social needs. She was trained in Washington, DC to assist with national disasters, the first of which was a hurricane in 1955 in Torrington, Connecticut. She was the director of a social service program for 22 outpatients clinics in Syracuse, New York. She also raises funds for scholarships for the English-Speaking Union for students who visit Edinburgh and Oxford in London. Her class of 1945 at Keuka College started the field period internship program. One particular internship experience at the City and County School of Progessive Education in New York City was invaluable to her later in life. Ms. Riemer also participated in internships at Buffalo University with the American National Red Cross and the Onondaga County Psychiatric Clinic. She is grateful to the many professors, doctors and field instructors who assisted her in her learning experiences and taught her that one never stops learning.
