Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession, after working in clinical outreach for the Crossroads Centre in Antigua, because she perceived a need for the continuum of care in Florida.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Steiner entered psychiatric nursing after becoming a registered nurse. She then spent 15 years as a detox nurse and worked as manager of programs for substance abuse. She also provided marketing and clinical outreach for treatment centers throughout the country. Working with the Crossroads Centre in Antigua in clinical outreach gave her the ability to see the need for the continuum of care in Florida, and became the focus for her founding of The Sanctuary in Delray Beach in 2004. The Sanctuary later became a subsidiary of the Crossroads Antigua Foundation, which was founded by guitarist Eric Clapton.

Overseeing all operational aspects of the facility, including budget management and staff management; Working with facility managers, attorneys and accountants

In five years, Ms. Steiner intends to develop a succession plan for her full time duties at The Sanctuary, and focus on running a consulting business.
