The most important career step taken was in 1982 when she left her day job and started her own consulting firm. From then on, she was on her own professionally and in business. It also allowed her to schedule her time in order to finally learn to sail and take it up as a sport.

She attributes her success to her curiosity, energy, dedication and determination.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession through her interest in writing. A compulsive writer and artist since childhood, Ms. Hanson began a comic strip about the Ghost Family when she was 7 years old. This was a source of great amusement to the family. Today, she finds it amusing that she's still doing it, only in a more sophisticated manner.
Extended Bio Profile:
A Writer's Digest contest judge proclaimed her novel "Dimensions" to be of huge interest to everyone who is curious about what happens when we die, since it deals with the hereafter and what happens to the main character. That indicates an enormous reader audience consisting of both genders and all ages. So marketing has to be incremental in order to try to reach segments of the multiple markets.
