Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Barrett has served as the director of business development and program director for AXON Communications since September 2013. As a woman working in the science field, Ms. Barrett hopes to encourage an increase in the number of women entering the industry. She advises young women pursuing a career in science to seek out an appropriate mentor and receive as much diverse education as possible. Through her own diverse background, Ms. Barrett has been able to transfer a lot of her skills to additional projects and career opportunities. Although she says her mother was a fantastic business role model, Ms. Barrett wishes she had more mentors when she entered the industry more than 10 years ago, which is why she is so passionate about helping young women succeed.

Leading initiatives to develop a portfolio of business partnerships and alliances, which create unique solutions to address evolving health care industry trends; Creating and executing strategic communication plans and message platforms that impact a variety of target audiences within the health care system; Developing plans that address disease prevention, health promotion, patient advocacy and support, and improvements in quality of care, as well educating on the social model of patient care; Serving as an integral leader in national and global health collaboration initiatives
