Dr. Owen has received Louise Wallace Hackney Fellowship in the study of Chinese art from the American Oriental Society in 2000, Mellon Dissertation Fellowship in 1999, Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in 1998, Ittleson Fellowship in visual arts from the Center for Advanced Study at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, Teaching Fellowship from the Yale University in 1997, Mellon Mays Predoctoral Fellowship in 1997, Andrew W. Mellon Pre-Dissertation Fellowship in 1996, Andrew W. Mellon Pre-Dissertation Fellowship in 1995, Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellowship from the Department of Asian Art of Yale University Art Gallery in 1995, Pre-Dissertation Research Fellowship in 1994, Andrew W.
