The highlight of his career was being the honoree of Educator of the Year in San Mateo County in 2005. The most gratifying aspect of his career is that he is a role model and that teaching classes even though he was an average student in high school is an important part in his life. He says that he sees he makes a difference in people's lives by the success of his students.

He attributes his success to his ability to help others; being able to see people where they are at and allowing himself the opportunity to listen to the trials and tribulations of others.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession because he wanted to help people with disabilities. He worked as a peer mentor and was referred to Caminar by a recruiter before eventually transitioning into a teaching position.

Mr. McVeigh says his change in life was due to his six years in the military and being exposed to people of higher education. He finds that what he does now is very rewarding for both the people he assists, as well as for himself.
