Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her current profession through her desire to write an autobiography about the 42 years she spent being a steeplejack, traveling the world, being an entrepreneur and recognizing and capitalizing on wonderful opportunities.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Quinn appeared on 'What's My Line' in 1956 and 'To Tell the Truth' in 1958, stumping the panel on both shows. She also appeared on 'Do You Trust Your Wife,' hosted by Johnny Carson in New York. She was a licensed steeplejack and painted high structures such as flagpoles, smokestacks, church steeples and television antennas. During her career, she was the only female steeplejack she knew of based upon her research and she referred to herself as a 'steeplejill.' She received many positive testimonials from officials when she performed work for schools, cities, and government entities. The aspects of her successful career were featured in American Painting Contractor, The New York Times in 1972 and The Los Angeles Times in 1971. Her autobiography is entitled 'Above & Beyond the Simple Life.'
