What do you feel separates you from the rest of the professionals in your industry?:
Ms. Riccio-Moran's passion for making a difference in people's lives, affording them the foundation on which to build their futures, not to mention the country's future, separates her from her peers. She feels there are many excellent educators who feel the same way, and she has been fortunate enough to have multiple opportunities to expand my foundations and horizons. Her parents taught her to take advantage of those opportunities and to benefit others with them.
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
Ms. Riccio-Moran's greatest career achievement thus far has been creating, acquiring and maintaining grant monies for, and implementing a California Partnership Academy, Telecommunication and Manufacturing Academy, for at-risk students, along with one other technology teacher.

Ms. Riccio-Moran lives by the Golden Rule, 'Do unto others as you would have them do to you' and 'If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost, that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.' by Henry David Thoreau. She feels these concepts are the essence of education.
Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
The most gratifying aspect of her career is seeing her students grow up and come back to tell her how successful they have become.

Ms. Riccio-Moran is a master teacher and is involved with Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment. She is in charge of the gifted and talented development program. She is a guest lecturer of the California's Educational System and California Paraeducators Association, where she conducts writing seminars for adults. She received California Partnership Academy grants for helping with the coursework of many students in the field of telecommunications and manufacturing. She writes and had received mentoring grants.
