She became involved in her profession through the inspiration of her mother, a licensed vocational nurse.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Nofrada has known from a young age that she wanted to become a nurse. She was greatly inspired by her mother, who served as a nurse and helped her get into school. She also accredits her mentors, Pat Folk of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Nancy Stit, from the University of Pittsburgh. She has a passion for educating her patients, bestowing upon them 17 years of experience as a transplant nurse. She considers her greatest professional accomplishment to date becoming a transplant nurse. She advises others who aspire to enter into the nursing profession to show compassion for their patients, have respect for their peers and always remain humble. She would like to dedicate this recognition to her mother, Anne Nofrada.
