She became involved in her profession because she wanted to play the cello since she was in fourth-grade, and acknowledged that she has a great talent and aspired to share her music with others.

Dr. Geeting is a performer, has done recordings and has performed all over the world. She has performed with her students in universities and other concert arenas. She is also a published author and has written a book on the life of a well-known concert celloist entitled 'Janos Starker: King of Cellists.' She has received the National Endowment for the Arts Grant, Rockefeller Grant and academic and performance scholarships. She also received teaching assistantship from Washington State University.
