The most gratifying aspect of her career is working in her profession, because working with delinquent youth is a very difficult job and definitely not for just anyone. She feels that there is no greater accomplishment than succeeding in this industry and helping youths become better citizens.

She attributes her success to the support she receives from her father and mentors.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in this profession after taking an elective class on rehabilitation in college. Her instructor, who later became her advisor and mentor, saw her excitement and potential and encouraged her to continue in this area of study.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. LaBrie is the academy manager for new staff and corrections officers. She teaches juvenile justice classes for a private college. Her greatest influences in life were her college advisor, Dr. Tom Fisher, and her father, who was an educator and in law enforcement. It was not until after his death that she learned that earlier on in his life, when he ran for political office, his platform was youth. Specifically, troubled youth in the juvenile justice system. Therefore, she believes that the desire to help youths may have been in her family genes, as well as through his influence and guidance. She has had many wonderful mentors within the industry, who have helped her get to where she is today.

Working with Youths and Adjunct Instructors, Organizing Programs, Training, Developing and Implementing Project Plans, Supervising, Managing Regional Academy for New Staff and Corrections Officers, Coordinating In-Service Training
