Dr. Strasinger is best known for writing three editions of "The Phlebotomy Textbook," two editions of "Blood Collection in Patient Healthcare" and "Skills for the Patient Care Technician," and six editions of "Urinalysis and Body Fluids." She is currently working on a flip-book called "Phlebotomy Notes." Her textbooks have been translated to Korean, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese.

Dr. Strasinger was a full-time professor at Northern Virginia Community College for 23 years. She continues to teach part time at the University of West Florida.

The highlight of her career was the publication of the first edition of "Urinalysis and Body Fluids."

What Does He/She Attribute Success To:
She attributes her success to having had the opportunities to work in a renal research laboratory, and civilian and military hospital clinical laboratories, and develop a community college medical laboratory technician program.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after receiving inspiration from her father, a physician who propelled her into the medical field. She enjoyed science laboratory classes in high school. Working in a renal research laboratory provided her with a vast knowledge of urine and body fluids. While teaching at the community college, she realized there were no textbooks on urinalysis and body fluids, so she decided to write one as her doctoral dissertation.
