She attributes her success to never giving up. She became involved in her profession after being recruited by the state as an assistant teacher. She then decided to pursue teaching and obtained her teaching certification. The highlight of her career was being invited to attend the graduation of one of her former students from medical school. Previously taught first grade and fourth through sixth science as well as adult education.
