Expanded Biography:
Dr. Norman's recent positions include serving as the director of epidemiology and biostatistics core for the Research Centers in Minority Institutions Program at the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico from 2006 to 2008; assistant professor of the Master in Public Health Program at the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico from 2005 to 2008; and assistant professor in the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences in Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon, Georgia from 2004 to 2005. Prior to this, she served in various positions from 1990 to 2004 that included consulting, lecturing and working as a behavioral scientist, and public health analyst at primarily government agencies and universities in the areas of disease research and prevention.

The highlight of her career was receiving grants for her testing and research.

Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Norman began her career in HIV prevention research at the CDC, and when she resigned she accepted an academic position in Jamaica. She realized the devastation of HIV/AIDS in the community. As such, she has devoted her research to target disadvantaged persons, mainly in the Caribbean.
