He became involved in his profession after gaining inspiration from his mechanically inclined father, working on the engine of his car in his youth, and earning a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in business management.
Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Penning is semi-retired. After he earned a master's degree, he joined Steelcase Inc. and remained there for 37 years. During his last 12 years with this company, he worked with the Asia-Pacific regions to develop new office products; he also handled marketing. Mr. Penning is proud that Zero1 seating works in any environment: offices, classrooms, hospitals and hotels. Zero1 products are designed and manufactured in the United States and make use of less packaging, storage space and transportation. Zero1 is committed to developing products that require less raw materials, eliminating waste, and utilizing suppliers that use sustainable manufacturing processes.
