Ms. Waldhaus started her career in bookkeeping and accounting. After working in accounting for 15 years, she worked at First Hawaiian Bank and the trust divisions of Bank of Hawaii as an employee benefit administrator. She began working as a financial advisor at AIG VALIC in 2001. She owns real estate properties in the states of Hawaii and Oregon. She won awards for being the best performer in group acquisition during the years 2002 to 2004 and for being the best performer in annuity sales in 2004. She was selected one among the top 10 persons in her company and she is the second woman in USA to attend National Excellent Advisors Conference representing her company.
