He retired from active duty in the United States Marine Corps after completing more than thirty years of service. He is a decorated Vietnam veteran who has been awarded honors and medals for combat, meritorious, commemorative and superior services by the Defense Department and the United States Marine Corps, Army and Navy. He has also received honors and medals from the cities of Los Angeles and Santa Ana, the state of California, The Republic of South Vietnam and multiple civic and community organizations. He is also a professional stage, screen and television actor.

The highlight of his career was being selected and promoted to full colonel in the United States Marine Corps.
