Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Agyemang led a cross functional team of experts, to include the sector manager for career development and supply chain management senior staff to drive the successful implementation of the program. The Capstone Program is a high-potential job rotation program designed to provide a base for salaried employee learning and professional development. The Capstone Program was developed from a need for structured opportunities with which the division could enhance employee development. The intent of the program is to provide candidates with a value stream-based knowledge of SCM. The goal is to facilitate employee development and growth for future opportunities. For his leadership, Alex received laudatory comments from the Vice Presidents of human resources and supply chain management and a TAP award for his leadership, foresight, and innovation. The Capstone Program is the only program within the sector targeting salaried employee development through rotational assignments. It has been recognized as a best practice and is being evaluated as a benchmark for sector career development programs.
Mr. Agyemang served as the value stream manager and team leader for the first phase of the strategic sourcing for Pipe Initiative, estimated at saving Northrop Grumman Newport News over $1.3 million over the life of the contract. This work is responsible for reducing the lead time for carbon steel pipe from 90 days to 24 hours. This reduction in lead time is directly responsible for eliminating excessive rusting and pitting of the pipe which led to non-value added work. He developed a reorganization plan to accommodate 300% growth in one year for the first ever regional supply department in the Air Force. He is responsible for managing more than 300 logistics, supply and fuels personnel in a squadron that accounted for an average of 75,000 monthly transactions and $8.9 billion in equipment and supplies.
• Vision and leadership: When faced with a registration process that often saw wait times of hours and not minutes, Alex led an effort to automate the process. He pulled together a team of IT and administrative personnel from within the church body and developed an online registration process that streamlined data collection, consolidated registration information, offered pre-registration and offered credit card payments. The new process saved in excess of 100 hours of redundant data entry and on-site preparation.
• Innovation: The contact of new believers
