She became involved in her profession through the inspiration of an orthopedic surgeon, who assuaged the effects of her family members' cerebral palsy.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Williams worked with Mother Teresa in Calcutta. In 2008, she traveled up the Amazon in Brazil to provide anesthesia to cleft palate patients. She also worked at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, for nine months, and assisted post-Katrina patients, anesthesia residents and students.
