Extended Bio Profile:
I have had a diverse career path. I started out working as a medical secretary back in the days when there were no computers. My boss was blind and I was his eyes reading to him daily and transcribing his notes. Then I was in the financial field working for Amtrak running the garnishment system. It was at this point that I had the opportunity to go in to the Information Technology field and that is where I have been ever since. My next job was with MCI working in the production department and doing statistical work. Then I went to work for the Army while living in Germany and got my certifications in Software and Hardware Configuration Management. I was the Configuration Manager for a major Army Command and Control Program Office. I then went to work for the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) as a Program Director for Information Technology Programs through out the Federal Government. I developed the OPM Security Program and trained agency personnel. Currently I am working for the General Services Administration in the Office of Governmentwide Policy. I am the Program Director for the implementation of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act within the Federal Government. Section 508 is a law that deals with Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) procurement by the Federal Government, ensuring that all products and services are accessible to persons with disabilities who are employed by the Federal Government and members of the public making all information and services available to anyone who needs access to them. She is a proficient speaker at seminars and conferences.
