He attributes his success to the support of his mother, who was an outstanding person and a recognized classical pianist; she often read to him from encyclopedias.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession because he was influenced by the revered doctors in his community. Also, he had a high school football coach who taught him about kinesiology, a topic which he found most fascinating.

Dr. Francis is the first and only doctor or medical professional of any kind in his family. He enjoys working with young people and encouraging them to develop an appetite for hard work, research, writing and communications.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Splitting his day between clinical duties and educational duties; Conducting research in basic cellular cardiology; Teaching classes in medicine; Performing rounds at the university medical center wards; Educating medical students with bedside instruction and structured lectures held in the amphitheater; Conducting seminars for smaller group sessions; Lecturing five times per year at other universities
