Ms. Waldrop's children have successful lives of their own. Her son Keith has his own business and is married with two sons. Both of his sons work and one is in college. His wife Pam is a nurse. Her other son, Eddie, has a son named Jason who works part time and is a high school sophomore in the school band. In addition, her son Lynn is married to his wife Sheronda and they have a son in grade school. Lynn also owns his own business. Ms. Waldrop's daughter Rebecca works full time and is the mother of two children, Andrea and Brianna, both of whom are in grade school. Lastly, her daughter Dawn in married to a paramedic and they have a son, Dustin, in middle school who participates in band and choir.
Ms. Waldrop has been in nursing since 1962 for a total of 45 years of service. She has worked with various personalities in different areas of nursing including surgical, medical, pediatric, oncology, cardiac, pulmonary and emergency nursing. She treats all patients and families in the same manner that she would desire to be treated if she found herself in the same situation.
The nursing profession requires a lot of observation and listening to be able to assist another human being during their time of illness or distress. She also feels family members need to be included for help with home care and in understanding the patients needs. Ms. Waldrop feels that a good nurse must love and be willing to help others.
