Ed Ford is recognized nationally and internationally as a world-class sales professional and consultant and one of the world’s leading experts on Total Recognition Strategies and is unsurpassed in the design, implementation, communication and management of innovative recognition programs. Ford has personally designed and assisted in the implementation and management of recognition programs for hundreds of the world’s leading organizations which, when combined, total hundreds of millions of dollars. Ford has presented hundreds of captivating educational seminars, symposiums, workshops and in-house executive previews in more than 20 major United States cities, Canada and the United Kingdom. He has taught more than 9,000 human resource professionals and has been a guest presenter at many human resource conferences. He is a participating member of WorldatWork, The Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and FORUM for People Performance Management and Measurement. Ford’s research, publications and teaching has had an impact on the entire recognition industry. His predictions over the past two decades have increasingly become the New Reality! Ford’s articles and publications include Guidelines for a Total Recognition Strategy, Official Recognition Workbook—A New Mandate for Employee Recognition Programs, Employee Needs and Wants Recognition Survey, What Constitutes an Effective Recognition Award Program?—Dispelling the Myths and 'The New Standard' (which appeared in Human Resource Executive Magazine), Beyond Tenure, The Best Ways to Recognize and Reward Employees, Exposing Recognition Myths, Perceived Employee Value and Inductive Recognition Award Programs. As a business marketing and sales consultant, Ford has been instrumental in bringing companies from sales in the $10 to $12 million range to sales surpassing $120 million. As a senior vice president of sales, Ford has recruited hundreds of salespeople and trained and managed more than 50 sales offices in the United States and Canada. In 1980, Ford founded FMT recognition where he has remained as president. Ford has been a sales and marketing consultant to 20 recognition companies. In his latest 2007 seminars, Ford shows how quantitative research and employee recognition myths collide to create the New Recognition Reality which has a global impact on how companies manage their most important asset—Human Capital. He recently completed a documentation on the recognition industry which was presented in New York this past May. Ford speaks publicly on a national and international basis. He has published numerous articles and three workbooks. When not conducting seminars, battling in the board room, training executives or flying on a plane, Ford can be found with his life-long love and childhood sweetheart, Jeannie. They will probably be gazing out the picture window of their Alpine retreat in Utah at the towering evergreens and snowcapped peaks, surrounded by one or more of their twelve grandchildren.
