She became involved in her profession after visiting Amish country and was inspired by her grandmother and mother.

Ms. Yamaji taught music education at public schools and churches and worked as a private instructor for 36 years. She performed major choral works as a professional singer under several world renowned music performers including Mr. Leonard Bernstein, Mr. Robert Shaw and Mr. Eugene Ormandy. She has always been an outstanding musician. She founded her quilting business in 2001. She donates quilted items to local schools. She also worked as a music accompanist in several senior community choruses.
