She became involved in her career after being hired by Dr. Loychik who wanted an LPN to do electroencephalograms.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Hainsey received the Silver Bowl for being at the top of her class. She began her nursing career working on a medical-surgery floor in 1971 and underwent electroencephalogram technical training in 1979. Her other responsibilities included dispensing sleeping medications and overseeing electroencephalogram hook-ups. She opened the first brain mapping laboratory in Pennsylvania in March of 1986. Later, she became supervisor for the Department of Neurology and Sleep. She also passed her board exam on electroencephalogram in 1993, as well as the board exam on polysomnography in 2001. Today, she enjoys conducting diagnostic work for sleep apnea, administering continuous positive airway pressure titrations to treat sleeping disorders, capturing a seizure on an electroencephalogram and recording and duplicating beautifully evoked potentials.
