The highlight of his career was being asked to deliver a brief lecture on foot reflexology to a group of magazine editors for the launch of a new shoe in October 2008 for NIKE.

Dr. Costello has authored numerous videotaped publications including 'Brian's Adventure,' in which he performs a spinal technique for vertebroplasty on T6 and T5 compression fractures under a local anesthetic. Dr. Costello is regarded as an outstanding Australian whose early colorful family history is portrayed in the movies and books, 'Kings in Grass Castles' and its sequel, 'Sons in the Saddle.' In November 2000, Dr. Costello was nominated for the Wisdom Award of Honor for the title of Eminent Fellow. He was the first Australian named in the renowned Wisdom Hall of Fame. He was invited by its president and founder to join earlier recipients including, among others, Presidents Truman, Kennedy and Eisenhower, Albert Einstein, Sir Winston Churchill, Ernest Hemingway and Carl Jung. Through exceptional accomplishments in serving humanity, Dr. Costello is considered a very worthy and qualified individual whose life is consistent with other great recipients. Earned during a lifetime of full-time employment spanning 40 years in teaching, clinical practice and research, Dr. Costello’s colleagues view his professional career, and outstanding cancer and heart scientific risk factor research breakthroughs as triumphant in serving humanity. Dr. Costello has extensive qualifications and holds a range of honorary positions including chief liaison officer for Australia and 33 countries for the American College of Forensic Examiners. In addition, his national and international appointments are extensive and have included being chairman of the American Board of Psychological Specialties for 8000 American forensic Ph.D. graduate psychologists in 1999, and world director-at-large and Australian chairman of the International Council of Psychologists in 1979. In 2003, appearing before senior executives of the ACT public service, he briefly recapped his career, discussed leadership role models and highlighted a critical incident in his own life that enabled the application of decades of research to assist him through his crisis of terminally diagnosed biopsy-proven esophageal cancer. He demonstrated solid statistical validation and scientific research design in contemporary approaches to applied stress reduction and pain control via presentation and practical application of cutting-edge treatment and rehabilitation techniques.
