I like to ask why. I used my experience in building ongoing education and applied that knowledge with that of my colleagues. We shared our knowledge of healthcare with one another.
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
I have achieved senior nursing and management roles at a young age but continued to develop a wide scope of knowledge to support a generalist view. Completing my MBA while working full time was a major challenge and personal achievement.

Have taken a lead role in the establishment of the Whangamata Community Health Inc, holding the secretary role of both the establishment group and inaugural committee to develop and facilitate an integrated primary health care model. (August 2004 to date). On the Change Management Steering Group of Waikato DHB for the Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service, representing continuing care facilities. Adopted a model to incorporate the primary, secondary and tertiary care sectors. (April to July 2004). Held management positions which have initiated and managed change. Managed up to 450 staff with effective personnel practices. Successfully organized and presented at seminars. Held executive roles and represented professional organizations at regional and national meetings. Completed both the Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies and the Master of Business Administration in the last three years- a real test of setting priorities and time management. On the governing board of the Whangamata Golf club and currently president. Been invited to think tanks with the District health Board. Consulted over a six month period to a large health care provider company mentoring a senior manager (2006/7).
